LMP was established to mentor young people aged 9-19 from various walks of life and cultures in the surrounding communities. Burrell formed a life-changing bond with young people, and his program has maintained a 100% graduation rate, and more than 3,000 students were helped and inspired to graduate from high school.
Mr. Burrell's activities are not limited to tutoring. Burrell has also helped coordinated efforts across the nation and country to help in hurricane and emergency relief efforts.
Mr. Burrell is a Governor-appointed member of the New Jersey State Council on Human Relations where he serves as the Chairman. In 2024, he now runs a community center for youth and citizens of his hometown. Through the center he opened in 2018, Mr. Burrell has seen more than 200 children graduate. This is just the beginning. Mr. Burrell developed a food distribution that now serves more than 300 people weekly, every Tuesday and Wednesday. Burrell also partnered with Alpha Aviation to develop a channel to get students interested in flying airplanes and working with drones. Mr. Burrell has also partnered with the Office of the State of New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin to provide 11th and 12th grade students with knowledge and opportunities to work in law enforcement. Through Mr. Burrell's work, he has received numerous awards, including the Johnson and Johnson MLK Community Service Award, the NAACP New Brunswick Branch President's Award, the Second Annual Spread the Word Humanitarian Award, the Highland Humanitarian Award Park MLK and many others. He also received the 2020 New Jersey Governor's Jefferson Award for being the Innovator and Founder of the Live Mentorship Program.
